Remembering Aretha Franklin

Sunday on a special edition of  Soulsations we remember the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. She passed away from pancreatic cancer on August 16, 2018, at her home in Detroit. Franklin was 76 years old. Hear Franklin's music and some reflections about the iconic singer from fans in the Wichita community.

Carla Eckels is Director of Organizational Culture at KMUW. She produces and hosts the R&B and gospel show Soulsations and brings stories of race and culture to The Range with the monthly segment In the Mix. Carla was inducted into The Kansas African American Museum's Trailblazers Hall of Fame in 2020 for her work in broadcast/journalism.
