Last Visit To NOLA, Birthday Salutes & New Music

December 28/30

Crossroads wraps up the December Crescent City feature with something a bit different from Professor Longhair, along with music from Lee Dorsey, Johnny Adams, and Walter ‘Wolfman’ Washington.

We’ll also mark birthdays of New Orleans’ Charles Neville, along with Lonnie Liston Smith, Bo Diddley, Pops Staples, and Johnny Otis, and present a House of Blues Johnny Otis special in hour two of the show.

And we’ll hear the latest from Maria Muldaur (just nominated for a Grammy), Billy F. Gibbons, Rod Piazza, and Lurrie Bell.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
