Innocence, Despair And A Swimming Lesson

Monday, February 12

In 1976 and 1977 but not discovered by a wide audience until 2001, Innocence & Despair is a collection of popular songs as performed by students from four different elementary schools from the Langley School District in British Colombia. The collection includes material originally recorded by David Bowie, the Beach Boys and Wings, among others. We’ll hear selections from that release on this episode of the show as well as selections from Castro, the new album by Old News.

We celebrate Valentine’s Day with music from Bob Dylan, Rilo Kiley and Billy Bragg.

Thursday, February 15

Melter is the latest release from Norman, Oklahoma’s Helen Kelter Skelter, we’ll hear selections from it as well as music from The Soft Bulletin, the 1999 album from Flaming Lips.

Friday, February 16

Alright is singer-songwriter Jeffrey Gaines’ newest recording. We’ll hear selections from that as well as material from the latest album from Tal National.

Saturday, February 17

 We’ll hear music from The Cavves, 2017 release, Learn to Swim and from Team Tremolo’s Intruder.

Monday, February 19

 We celebrate Presidents’ Day with selections from Hard Working Americans, John Cougar Mellencamp, Joe Walsh and more.
