Grammy Lifetime Achievement Honorees Including Chuck Berry

  February 13/15

Throughout February, Crossroads highlights music from the blues and R&B winners of Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards - including music in hour one from Muddy Waters, Booker T & the MGs and John Lee Hooker.

Then in hour two, it’s Chuck Berry: Hail Hail the King of Rock 'n' Roll. The special revolves around a once-in-a-lifetime gathering to honor Berry on his 60th birthday. The event was captured by film director Taylor Hackford, who hosts this hour of live music, rehearsal sessions, and insider interviews from both the original film and bonus materials unearthed for a DVD reissue. Performances from Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Linda Rondstadt, Etta James and Julian Lennon and interviews with John Lennon, Bo Diddley, Little Richard, and Chuck Berry are part of the show.

Plus new music, Juno Award blues nominees and music from artists with concerts in the coming week.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
