February Feature: Mardi Gras Month - New Orleans Blues and R&B

Throughout February, Crossroads teams up with Global Village (Samba and the Sounds of Brazil) and Night Train (Louis Armstrong) for a month-long Mardi Gras celebration. At the Crossroads, it’s the sound of New Orleans blues and R&B.

From the late '40s through the '60s, the Crescent City experienced a "Golden Age" when some of its greatest artists were making some of their finest recordings. They would leave an indelible mark on American popular music and help shape the then newly emerging sound of rock 'n roll. We'll highlight classics and rarities, famous names and cult favorites, including selections from a new four-disc boxed set of material recorded at the legendary studio of Cosimo Matassa.
