Strange Currency offers listeners a glimpse into the current state of adult alternative music by highlighting emerging artists. You can hear the R&B revival sounds of Eli “Paperboy” Reed and The True Loves, Orgone and The Quantic Soul Orchestra, plus those who continue the singer-songwriter tradition such as The Mountain Goats, Haley Bonar, and Bart Davenport. We’ll also journey into the past for lesser-known cuts by David Crosby, The Byrds, Big Star and XTC. But we also find time to showcase local and regional talent such as the true roots music of Moreland and Arbuckle, the groundbreaking sounds of Drakkar Sauna and the traditionalist-cum-renegade stylings of The Ants and Split Lip Rayfield.
