Any overseas adoption can be a long strenuous process but as most new parents agree, it can be very rewarding once the child is permanently placed. WSU English Professor Jean Griffith and her husband Ross desired to adopt a child from Haiti. Their son, 18-month-old Alexander, was orphaned at birth. The toddler from Port-au-Prince was flown to the states after January's devastating earthquake. KMUW's Carla Eckels talked with Griffith about why she and her husband decided to adopt a child from Haiti.
