Christmas tree recycling is underway in Wichita.

Residents can drop off their trees or take some mulch from the sites through January 23rd.  Once the sites close, the mulch will be taken to the Sedgwick County Extension Center at 21st & Ridge Road in Wichita.  The mulch will be available for pick up until it is gone. The free service allows residents to reduce the number of trees that end up in the landfills as well as reuse a natural product.  Residents who would like to recycle their trees should look for the Spread Your Christmas tree Cheer” signs at Wichita’s Boston Park, Buffalo Park, Edgemoor Park, College Hill United Methodist Church, Earhart Environmental Magnet School and the Sedgwick County Extension office.
