Legislators can block Kansans with mental illness from voting, according to the Kansas constitution. Efforts to remove that provision moved forward yesterday in the House. Stephen Koranda has more.

Lawmakers are continuing to wrangle with budget proposals. House leaders want spending cuts to fill a 500 million dollar hole in the state budget. Senate leaders are pushing for tax increases to help cover the shortfall. Advocacy groups on all sides of the issue are trying to get lawmakers attention, and that resulted in two very different rallies being held at the Statehouse yesterday. Stephen Koranda reports.
