A busy week with something for virtually every taste in music - plus the KNOB new music festival and First Friday and a couple of regional dates with iconic singer-songwriter Paul Simon.
Halloween fun includes Cyndi Lauper (touring with Dr. John and performing music from her recent blues album) with opening act, a wonderful retro Memphis soul band, The Bo-Keys, at the Midland Theatre in Kansas City. At the Conservatory in Oklahoma City, ska-punk band, the Toasters, make a stop on their 30th anniversary tour.

November begins with Americana shows with Reckless Kelly at the Bottleneck in Lawrence; acclaimed singer-songwriter and producer Gurf Morlix with his movie and music tour in tribute to his late songwriting buddy Blaze Foley at Knuckleheads Saloon inKansas City; and another impressive singer-songwriter, Fred Eaglesmith, with the Ginn Sisters at the Blue Door in Oklahoma City.
November 2nd shows include Allmans and Govt. Mule guitarist Warren Haynes Band at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa; and quirky alt-popsters, They Might Be Giants, at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City.
On Thursday the third, contemporary R&B star, Babyface, is at the Orpheum. Local blues-rock favorites Moreland and Arbuckle are at Knuckleheads; and Ben Folds teams up with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic for at performance at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City.
Also on Thursday the KNOB New Music Festival kicks off at the Fisch Haus and runs through Saturday. The lineup includes:

Friday boasts lots of blues including, Chicago bluesman Joe Moss at the Boulevard here in Wichita, Samantha Fish at Uncle Bo’s in Topeka, and Sandy Carroll, Eden Brent, Levee Town and Jimmie Bratcher at Knuckleheads. Award-winning pianist Eden Brent also appears at Uncle Bo’s in Topeka Saturday; and at the Dyck Arboretum in Hesston Sunday as part of the Prairie Window concert series there. Also Friday Pop and the Boys are at the Artichoke Sandwich Barp; Truckstop Honeymoon plays the Bottleneck in Lawrence; smart jazz songwriter and singer Mark Winkler is at Jardine’s in Kansas City; and Grammy-winning contemporary Cuban band, Tiempo Libre, has a show at the Lied Center in Lincoln.
Finally, it’s also First Friday here in Wichita with a lineup that includes:

Saturday sees several different shows here in town, including Tesla at the Cotillion (also at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa Sunday); Reba at Intrust Arena; the Stitch Miller Band at the Artichoke Sandwich Bar; and Lucky Tubb and The Modern Day Troubadours at Abode Venue.
Regional dates include Gerald Trimble at the Iron Horse in El Dorado, as a new season gets underway there; Webb Wilder at Knuckleheads; the Stone Temple Pilots at the Lucky Star Casino in Concho; and the Global Dub Festival at the Midland Theater in Kansas City.
Finally on Sunday, iconic singer-songwriter is at Paul Simon the Oklahoma City Civic Center Music Hall. He also plays the Midland Theatre in Kansas City on November 8th.
