Stitches by David Small

David Small has won rave reviews over the past three decades for work that has appeared in some 40 books, the New Yorker, the New York Times and many other national publications. Much of his work has been drawings for children?s books and it won him scores of awards, including two coveted Caldecott Medals. Now this acclaimed author and illustrator of books for youth, offers instead a work about his own distinctive and troubled growing up years. KMUW book critic Sarah Bagby tells us more about this unusual new memoir published just last week.
