Author Colson Whitehead began his writing career shortly after college as a contributor to the Village Voice. And while he continued to write non-fiction, essays and reviews for the Voice, Salon and New York Times, it was with his three novels ? The Intuitionist, John Henry Days and Apex Hides the Hunt - that Whitehead emerged as one of most promising young authors on the current American literary scene. His latest and fourth novel comes out on April 28th and Sarah Bagby tells us what to expect of it. You can hear Sarah Bagby's book reviews the second and fourth Mondays of every month on Morning Edition.
