With holiday shows wrapped or just about wrapped up many Wichita theatres are in preparation for their first shows of 2012.

In February and March Mosley Street Melodrama will present The Dukes of Haysville or The Hazzards of Going Down South… of Wichita written by Tom Frye. The production begins February 2.

Wichita Community Theatre prepares the fourth show of its 66th season: the comic farce The 39 Steps by Patrick Barlow, adapted from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock. The show will run January 26 through February 12.

The Wichita State University School of Performing Arts has a full season including performances of the Tennessee Williams Classic The Glass Menagerie (coming in April) and a Commedia dell’arte show, The Sausage, beginning in February.

Wichita Center for the Arts will present Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice and Alan Ayckbourn’s Round and Round The Garden later this season.
