Listen to the Lecture: Surving Stress in Your Life
Live & Learn – March 2006
Stress can be defined as a physical, chemical or emotional
factor that causes bodily or mental tension.
That can be good – and bad.
"Surviving Stress in Your Life" is the topic of the next program in the
Live & Learn Lecture Series. Dr. Alex
Reed will discuss this issue in a public lecture at the KU School of Medicine –
Wichita campus at 1010 N.
Kansas, March 14 at 11:30 am.
Wichita Public Radio, the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita and the Medical
Society of Sedgwick County are collaborating on this monthly series. You're invited to bring a sack lunch to the
lecture, which is free and open to the public.
Snacks and/or dessert and beverages will be provided. The KU School
of Medicine – Wichita campus is located at the 8th/9th Street
exit on I-135.
KMUW will offer news reports on the topic during Morning
Edition on March 13th and 14th. There is additional information about the
series and audio archives on our website at www.kmuw.org. Click on the News Link, then click on Live
and Learn Lecture Series. The web
archive also includes audio from previous lectures and news reports.
Next month's lecture topic will be presented on April 11, with
Dr. Deborah Outwater discussing "Growing Old Gracefully: Women's Health
Issues."
All lectures are FREE and open to the public, and will be
held the second Tuesday of each month, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each lecture will be held in the Sunflower
Room at the KU School of Medicine – Wichita
campus. You are invited to bring a sack
lunch. Snacks and/or dessert and
beverages will be provided. Registrations are requested by calling

as part of the national Sound Partners for Community Health grant program, in
2003. The previous lectures and radio
reports can be found on Wichita Public Radio's website at http://www.kmuw.org/programming,
