WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH

In honor of Women’s History Month, KMUW will produce and air tributes to four exceptional women from the area —Judy Bell, Elizabeth McClean, Velma Wallace, and Nahima Salamy Farha.  Each tribute will be voiced by a person who has had a very personal connection to the honoree.  “We’ll air these audio portraits on Wichita Public Radio throughout the latter half of March,“ said Lu Anne Stephens, KMUW Program Director.

This is a collaborative effort to honor these local women who appear in the Plaza of Heroines at Wichita State University.  They were selected by a committee from the Community Council for the Women’s Studies Department at WSU.  Selection was based on contribution to the community and/or to the advancement and education of women.  More information at   http://webs.wichita.edu/wmstudy/plaza.html
