| Obesity Update: 2007 |
This month the final offering in the Live & Learn Lecture Series, "Obesity Update: 2007,"
will include discussion of newer concepts and causes of obesity and the
difficulty in keeping weight off. James Early, MD, clinical associate
professor, Preventive Medicine and Public Health, KU School of
Medicine-Wichita will also include information on the latest medical
and surgical techniques and treatment for obesity.
This presentation will be 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 12,
at the KU School of Medicine – Wichita campus, 1010 N. Kansas.
The lecture is free and open to the public, but reservations are

KMUW’s Frank Dudgeon will present an interview featuring Dr. Early during Morning Edition, Monday, June 11 -- 5:50 a.m., 7:50 a.m., and 9:50 a.m.
Dr. Early is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine
and has been active in the department of Preventive Medicine and Public
Health since its inception. His clinical duties include the management
of medically significant obesity and support of pre- and post-surgical
patients undergoing obesity surgery. Dr. Early is also active in
corporate health, executive physicals, lipid management consultations
and group counseling with patients at high-risk for cardiovascular
disease.
This 2006-2007 series has been made possible because of community
partners Wichita Public Radio, The University of Kansas School of
Medicine – Wichita, WPPA, Inc., and the Medical Society of Sedgwick
County.
